According to the amended Section 136 of the Latvian Administrative Offence Code (effective as of 25.02.09), a passenger having not paid the fare may be fined LVL 2.00-5.00.

If a passenger has not paid for carrying his/her luggage or a pet, under Section 136 of the Latvian Administrative Offence Code he/she may be imposed a fine of up to LVL 15.00.

For violating the rules of using public transport, a passenger may be imposed a fine of up to LVL 15.00, according to Section 137 of the Latvian Administrative Offence Code.
